We Live To Travel

We were in Hanoi about 4 days in total. This is more than enough time and you could realistically cover all the highlights in one or two days. This was a very smoggy big city…  a lot of the residents were wearing masks covering their mouths when they were outside.

I might be wrong but Hanoi seemed more developed than HCMC. There were still lots of people and lots of traffic, but people seemed to have a bit more in this northern Vietnamese city.

If you are in Hanoi (which I wouldn’t miss solely because it is the main point for most of the Halong Bay trips), we would recommend doing the city tour (they are cheap here) and going to see the water puppet show.

Where We Stayed

We stayed at Le Foyer Hotel which was wonderful and we would highly recommend it! The staff were incredibly helpful (like nothing we’ve ever seen before!) and the rooms were quite nice, affordable and clean. The hotel was very modern, had a nice big TV with English channels, a big comfy bed with nice linens and a clean bathroom with hot water and a tub. We loved this hotel!
